MiAI uses location, voice input, and speech output to assist you in some basic daily needs. It can understand a set of basic voice commands like "find a {place}", "definition of {term}", "search for {term}", "what's up", "location", "news", "weather", "sports", "famous quotes", "jokes", "tongue twisters", "calculate {expression}", etc.. It is intended to provide continuous speech recognition and hands-free voice automation for your mobile device.
It will be able to speak and hear you with the screen off as long as you keep it busy by chatting with it. Some items are displayed on the screen in a list of response cards as supplemental information. If you want to save the response text of a card to the clipboard you can long-press the robot image in the card. Your favorite Media like Audio, Video Podcasts, and RSS Feeds can be configured and accessed via voice commands as well.
It uses Google Places for search based on your location. Items will be returned that are closest to you first, and so on. By saying 'next place' you will get the next place in the list, etc. Details of the place can be returned by saying 'get details'. You can then call or navigate to the place as well by saying 'call place', or 'goto place'.
Search is provided by Google, you can say 'search for {item}' and it will return a page of numbered search result snippets including detail urls. You can say 'page next' to move on to the next page of results. Or, just say 'search details x' to bring up a browser with the detail contents of number x in the search result list.
It uses Eventbrite for local event management. Asking it 'what's up' will return a list of Event Categories. Getting the list of Events for category number x, you can say 'get events x', and the list of events in that category will be returned. From the event list to get the details of event y, you can say 'event details y'. If the Event has an address you can then say 'goto event' and it will launch Navigator for that location, and so on.
And it uses openweathermap for local weather forecasts. The 'weather' command will get your local weather. and the 'forecast' command will return the 5-day forecast.
Wikipedia is used for the 'definition of {term}' command, and the 'who is {name}' or 'what is {term}'. These are very early in development and may be expanded on later.
For access to your RSS Feeds, and Podcasts (once configured) you can use the '{name} {category}' command pair for assess to the RSS feed data, and the 'get podcast {name}' commands for access to the podcast directory. To play podcast x from the directory, you can say 'play podcast x'. There are some defaults for news, sports, and trending already defined in the configuration, and a couple of podcasts to get you started.
For help in the app just say one of the following commands:
help
help places
help configure
